Attorney John J. Quinn

John J. Quinn is a partner in Quinn & Quinn, LLC, with his brother, Jim, and his son, John, Jr.  John, Sr., has been practicing law in Hartford since 1976. His practice covers many facets of the law, including personal injury, workers' compensation, real estate, estate planning, personal injury, family, criminal, probate and the representation of small businesses. He is a network attorney for the ARAG legal protection plan which offers pre-paid legal services plans to employees of several Connecticut companies.  Attorney Quinn has been a Board Certified Workers' Compensation Specialist in 2001. This designation requires the completion of certification requirements and a commitment to continuing legal education. The certification requires that at least 25% of the specialist's practice be dedicated to workers' compensation law.   Attorney Quinn's Overall Peer Rating from Martindale-Hubbell in the practice areas of Workers' Compensation, General Practice and Litigation is AV. He has also been selected for inclusion on the  New England Super Lawyers list each year since 2010.

Attorney Quinn has served the legal community throughout his career. In 1989, he was selected by a committee of Superior Court Judges to serve as counsel to the Hartford Judicial District Grievance Panel for Geographical Area 13 and the town of Hartford. Each year since, he has  been reappointed by the judges of the Superior Court as grievance counsel to the panel.  In this capacity, he serves as counsel to the grievance panel in its investigations of grievance complaints involving allegations of misconduct against practicing attorneys. Attorney Quinn also served as a commissioner on the Judicial Selection Commission for a three year term. He was one of twelve commissioners who voted on the fitness of candidates for the judiciary and on whether or not to recommend the reappointment of sitting judges whose eight year terms were expiring. The commission also votes on the elevation of judges seeking an appointment to an appellate level position. He has provided legal services to the disadvantaged and to indigent persons through his previous service with the Pro-Bono Referral Project and in his prior service as a Criminal Justice Act Panel Attorney in the United States District Court. In his personal time, Attorney Quinn is a coach in the West Hartford Youth Basketball League. The firm, Quinn & Quinn, sponsors teams in the basketball and baseball sports programs in West Hartford.
